Main (Portal) Page


This page is the 1st page that is displayed after Login for APDirect users. Your name and company are displayed in the left margin of the page. Below that is a list of the private APDirect applications that you can access.
On the right hand side of the page is a listing of Helpful links to other Air Products online applications. The list is categorized and customizable by choosing the 'click here to add' button and going to the Helpful Links page.
On the Helpful Links page, you can select Air Products' favorites to add as helpful links on your main page. Simply check the box to the left of the favorite, click the submit button at the bottom of the page and the link will be displayed on your main page.button and going to the Helpful Links page.

Beginning Your Registration


If you have been invited to register for a specific APDirect application your invitation code will identify you and you will proceed to the detailed registration form. Please provide the necessary information so your registration may be processed promptly. If you do not have an invitation code you may select one of the following areas to define your relationship to Air Products so that we provide you with the correct online applications. The selections are:
Customers – Select this button if you want to register for ordering and access transaction and product information.
Technical Product Information User - select this button if you want to register for access to technical information about products we sell.
Supplier – Select this button if you want to register for APDirect Supplier applications.
Tell Me More - you will be directed to a feedback form where you can tell us more about your needs.

General


1. For your protection, we have a registration system in which users select a Username and Password when they access our system. The registration process is designed to afford your privacy. We advise that each party at your company who would like access to Air Products applications register individually, rather than 'sharing' username and password information.
2. If you have already registered for Air Products’ applications, please enter your Username and Password and click on the 'Login' button. You will have access to your personal list of Air Products’ applications.
3. If you have forgotten your Password you will need to have it reset to re-establish access to APDirect. To do this click on the 'Password' button and a temporary password will be sent via e-mail to the e-mail address provided at Registration. After you login with this temporary password you will need to change it to something confidential for future access.
4. New users can begin the registration process by clicking on the 'Register' button on the Air Products’ Login Page.
5. This instructional item pertains only to customers who want to register for ordering and transaction information. After you click on the 'customer registration' button you must select the general type of products you buy from us so that we can route your request to the proper area. We also ask you to indicate which applications you want to have access to, your role in your company and the 'ship to' numbers we have assigned to you. If you do not know the ship to number (s) please provide the address of the locations you want to access via AP Direct. Providing this information at registration eliminates the need for us to contact you by phone.
6. Registration requires you to submit general company information. Please note that the asterisk (*) indicates required entry fields. You should choose your personal username (6-30 characters) and password (6-30 characters) here. Please enter the e-mail address where you wish to receive confirmation messages and password reminders.
7. You must accept the Air Products’ Privacy Policy in order to continue with your registration and gain access to valuable Air Products’ Online Applications. Most registrations are completed within one business day. If we have any questions about your registration request we will contact you.

Required Browsers

What Internet browser should I use?


Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0 is the preferred browser for this site. This browser uses SSL (Secure Socket Layer) to transmit encrypted data across the Internet.

What display resolution settings should I use?


We recommend using SVGA settings (800 x 600 pixels) for better results and less horizontal scrolling.

Cookies Required

Do I need to allow cookies to be stored on my computer?


To register for and use the applications available on the Air Products website your computer must be able to accept cookies. This property is set in the Internet Options or Preferences section of your browser. To enable your computer to accept cookies, in Internet Explorer:
1. Select Tools from the menu bar, and then click on Internet Options.
2. Click on the Security Tab.
3. Click on the Custom Level button.
4. The Security Setting window is displayed. Scroll to the 'Cookies' section.
5. Select 'Enable' as the option under 'Allow cookies that are stored on your computer.'
In Netscape:
1. Select Edit, then Preferences.
2. Choose the Advanced category.
3. In the Cookies section, click 'Accept All Cookies'.
4. Click the OK button.

Registration

Why does this site require Registration?


Registration helps us to protect our users privacy, and is required to allow our users to access valuable, sometimes proprietary, information and applications on the Air Products website. This includes:
Access product information. Find the right material for your application; search data sheets by application, property, name or trademark
Place and revise orders. 24 hours a day/7 days per week
Check the status of your orders. Review order status and summary of purchases
Track package and railcar shipments. Obtain up-to-the-minute shipment status
Obtain MSDS
Order Chemical Samples

Personal Profile

Why does this site require my Personal Profile?


Your personal profile allows us to quickly notify you with important updates related to this site via e-mail, fax, or mail whenever there is a need. If any data in your profile (e.g., e-mail address) should change, please update the information at your earliest convenience.

Privacy and Security

How private is my personal information?


Your personal information that is stored in this site is used solely by Air Products to assist in contacting you with requested information. We do not sell, rent or transmit personal information to other organizations.

How 'secure' is my access to this site?


Passwords are used in conjunction with your user identification (UserName) to ensure the security of your company’s information. Sharing passwords could compromise that security. It is recommended that you change your password regularly. Once you access this site, the security of your company information is your responsibility. If you must leave your computer with an active session on this site, activate a password protected screen saver before leaving to secure your account until you return.

UserName

What if I forget my UserName?


Your UserName should be automatically displayed if your have signed on to airproducts.com from your regular computer.
If you are signing on to airproducts.com from a different computer and cannot remember your UserName, call or e-mail your primary Air Products contact. Your primary contact will ask you some specific questions to help locate your registration and to verify your identity. Your UserName will be determined during this discussion.

Passwords

What if I forget my password?


3. If you have forgotten your Password you will need to have it reset to re-establish access to APDirect. To do this click on the 'Password' button and a temporary password will be sent via e-mail to the e-mail address provided at Registration. After you login with this temporary password you will need to change it to something confidential for future access.

How do I change my password?


You may change your password at any time.
To change your password:
1. Select the My Profile option on the navigation bar on any page on this site.
2. Scroll to the bottom of the My Profile Page and click Change Password.
3. Follow the instructions for entering the current and new passwords. The next time you log on to this site you must use the new password.

How do I pick a password?


Passwords must include several special characteristics to ensure that they are unique and cannot be determined by someone else. These characteristics include:
1. Passwords are case-sensitive (if you enter a lower or upper-case letter when you enter your password you must retype it this way each time you enter it).
2. Passwords must be at least six characters in length. The maximum length is 30 characters.
3. Passwords must contain three out of four character types:
* An uppercase letter (do not use accented characters such as Ä or É)
* A lowercase letter (do not use accented characters such as é or à)
* A number
A special character .$!#,@?*()&
4. You cannot reuse your existing or 4 previous passwords.
5. Your password cannot be the same as or contain your UserName.

Logging Off

How do I log off this site?


When you have completed any visit APDirect be sure to log out by either clicking on the 'Log Out' button on the left margin of your Portal Page or by closing the browser. This ensures that no one can access this site via your account if your session has not timed out or you leave your computer. Also, as noted in the Privacy and Security help section, activating a screen saver that is password protected before leaving your computer with an active session will secure your account until you return.
